“Whilst hunting for a quality, high-end property in the Western Algarve in 2006, we were recommended to view a large 5 bedroom house in the early stages of construction by Lagos based property developers; Casas do Sul.
My wife and I were immediately impressed by their design flair, build quality and attention to detail. Casas do Sul is owned and managed by Daniel Neves and Helder Mendes, both of whom operate a hands-on approach to business. Whilst the building fabric was well underway, we were able to work closely with Daniel and Helder to ensure that the infrastructure of the house was created in such a way to suit our own personal lifestyles.
Casas do Sul are very proud of their commitment to quality and this shows in their work. Whether it was the installation of the house’s own elevator, gymnasium, sauna and Jacuzzi, home cinema room or even the wine cellar, each element was created and fitted out to the highest standard. Security was naturally important to us and it was comforting to know that electric blinds, a cutting edge intruder alarm system, electric gates and video monitoring had already been taken care of.
Working with Daniel and Helder, we consulted with top-end local retailers to ensure that the kitchen units, appliances and bathroom fittings were of the highest quality and specification, designed to meet our individual needs. Careful thought also went into floor and wall tiles, natural stone staircases and bathroom vanity units to create an environment that suited us.
The entire building process was pain-free, well planned and completed on time.
After-care is a very important factor when purchasing a property abroad. We’ve all heard horror stories of poor build quality, lousy after-sales and disinterested developers, should a problem arise. I can honestly say that Casas do Sul are the exception to the rule. It would be naïve to expect there wouldn’t be some minor issues with a building project of this type and complexity, but it’s never the problem itself that leads to disappointment; it is always the failure to rectify the problem that everyone remembers. I’m happy to say that on the odd occasion when we have encountered a minor problem, Casas do Sul have reacted promptly, taken the problem away from us and managed it themselves and have always provided us with excellent service.
All in all, our experience of property buying and ownership in Portugal has been pleasurable and easy. And Daniel and Helder of Casas do Sul have certainly helped make it that way.”
